Golfing holidays in Portugal
Portugal is one of the most inexpensive and fascinating destinations in Europe. It has a rich seafaring past, superb beach resorts, wistful towns and cities, and a landscape wreathed in olive groves, vineyards and wheat fields. There's the sun, naturally, but there's also our great hospitality and friendliness that have helped to make Portugal such a very special destination for tourists. The country is justly proud of the ideal conditions that it enjoys for water sports and golf, its modern tourist infrastructures and the very traditional welcome and personal treatment that it affords its visitors.

Amongst it’s many superb courses are:-
Quinta da Marinha - an internationally acclaimed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones has designed an exciting 18-hole golf course. The first 9 holes have a spectacular countryside area and the second 9 holes on cliff tops have sensational views over the Atlantic.

Oitavos - a flat golf course, with large undulating greens, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the West Side and Sintra Mountain and Cabo da Roca to the North.Oitavos Golf is the first course of Europe to have the Audubon International Certified Gold Signature Sanctuary.

Praia D'el Rey designed by the North American architect Cabell B. Robinson, is an authentic links course. It was built right next to the Atlantic Ocean, which gives the course a rare beauty, accentuated by its lakes, trees and dunes.

Belas is located about a ten-minute drive away from Portugal's cosmopolitan capital, Lisbon, and a similar distance from Sintra facing Lisbon Sports Club. William "Rocky" Roquemore has done one of his prime designs at this championship standard par-72 golf course which measures 6,380 metres. The course meanders in amongst the hillsides, affording splendid views of the Sintra hills and is divided into two well defined parts: one with low density residential surroundings and the other through an untouched natural environment. One of its signature holes is the 2nd called "Augusta" in honour of the 13th at that famous course for its beauty and difficulty.

Isla Canela - is set within a nature reserve and provides links type test of golf over flat terrain. The greens are generally fast and smooth, and there are extra club house facilities and a full size driving range.

Boavista - a magnificent addition to the Algarve selection of courses and a must to play. It enjoys great views down to Cape St Vincent, and is a Howard Swan masterpiece.

Islantilla - set in a natural countryside, overlooking the sea. There is just about every hazard to test your game, from narrow winding fairways, half a dozen water holes and fast, sloping greens.

Golf Nuevo Portil is located near the beach not far from the city of Huelva and 6 kilometres from the tourist area of Punta Umbría.The area around Golf Nuevo Portil is of exceptional beauty with nature reserves, coastal lagoons and dunas. The golf course was inaugurated in November 2001. Golf Nuevo Portil is well-playable with smooth slopes and many dog-legs being the main characteristics of this golf course.

Parque Da Floresta - a tough course, played over rugged and sloping terrain.
